Create a service

  1. Open Services and click + Add Service.
  2. Enter a Service Name and, optionally, a Description.

  1. Set up Map Escalation By Severity — see Escalation by Severity — or turn on Notification only to skip escalation entirely.
  2. Add Notification Emails or a Slack channel under Notifications, if you want them.
  3. Click Create Service.

Each of the five severity levels needs either an escalation policy or Do Not Escalate — Oppex won't let you save with a severity left blank.

FAQ

What does "Notification only" do?

It skips escalation-by-severity entirely — incidents on this service are never assigned or escalated, only the service's own notification settings fire.

Is a description required?

No, only the name is required.
