On-call emails
Oppex can email you before your on-call shift starts, and as soon as someone assigns you to cover another person's shift. You choose whether you receive these emails, and how many days before a shift the reminder arrives, on your Notifications page.
Permissions
Every user controls their own on-call emails, whatever their role. See On-call email permissions and limits.
What you can do
| When Oppex sends it | Controlled by | |
|---|---|---|
| Shift reminder | Once a day, for each shift that starts within the reminder days you chose | Notify On Call and Remind Me |
| Override email | As soon as someone assigns you to cover another person's shift | Notify On Call |
Both emails are off by default. Turn on Notify On Call to start receiving them; reminders then arrive 1 day and 5 days before each shift unless you choose other days.

These emails do not change how you are paged
On-call emails are reminders only. Turning them off does not stop the calls, text messages and other notifications you receive for an incident while you are on call.
