Choose when to get shift reminders
You can get a reminder email 1 to 5 days before each on-call shift, on up to two of those days. For example, a reminder 5 days ahead gives you time to swap a shift, and a reminder 1 day ahead confirms the start time.
Every user can choose their own reminder days, including Responders. Notify On Call must be on, or the Remind Me card is not shown. See Turn on-call emails on or off.
Choose your reminder days
- Click Settings > Personal > Notifications.
- In the Remind Me card, click a day, for example 2 days. A selected day is highlighted, and Oppex shows "Reminder preference updated".
- Optional: click a highlighted day to remove it.
If you already have two days selected and click a third, Oppex shows "You can select up to 2 reminder days" and keeps your current choice. Remove one day first, then select the new one.
With no day selected, Oppex shows "Reminders turned off" and sends you no shift reminders. You still receive override emails, because those depend only on Notify On Call.
How the days are counted
A reminder day counts calendar days before the day your shift starts, in the schedule's time zone. A 1 day reminder arrives the day before your shift; a 5 days reminder arrives five days before it. There is no reminder on the day the shift starts.
Oppex checks for upcoming shifts once a day, at 00:30 UTC, so a reminder arrives shortly after that time on its day. Each reminder is sent once per shift, even if the schedule is checked again.
