Who can do what

RoleCan do
Admin and aboveCreate and edit schedules, add or remove layers, and reorder rotation members.
Every member of the schedule's workspace, including RespondersCreate and cancel overrides from the calendar.
ResponderView the schedule and calendar, and create or cancel overrides. The controls that edit the schedule itself are hidden.

For example, on a schedule staffed by Michael Scott (Admin) and Dwight Schrute (Responder), only Michael can add a layer. Both of them can create an override, so Dwight can arrange cover for one of his shifts without asking Michael.

Workspaces

Schedules belong to the workspace they were created in. Switching to a different workspace shows that workspace's own schedules, not the ones from where you switched from.

FAQ

Can a Responder see who is covering an override?

Yes. Overrides show on the calendar the same way for every role, and every member of the schedule's workspace can create or cancel one.

What does a Responder see instead of the edit controls?

A banner that reads "View Only: Responders can't edit schedules. You can still assign or cancel overrides from the calendar." The calendar stays fully visible.

Do my schedules move with me when I switch workspaces?

No. Switching workspaces shows only the schedules that belong to the workspace you switched into.
