Acknowledge multiple incidents

Acknowledge several incidents at once to tell your team that you are working on them. Oppex stops escalating each acknowledged incident and notifies responders in the same way as a single acknowledge.

Permissions

You can acknowledge an incident if it is assigned to you, or if you belong to the escalation policy that the incident was routed to. This rule is the same for every role.

Acknowledge incidents

  1. In the Incidents list, select the incidents you want to acknowledge. See Select multiple incidents.
  2. In the bulk actions bar, open the Change status dropdown and select Acknowledged.
  3. If a yellow note appears under the bar, read it. Oppex has unticked the incidents you cannot acknowledge. See Bulk action permissions and limits.
  4. Click Apply. Oppex shows "Acknowledging the selected incidents. Notifications will be sent shortly."

The incidents move to Acknowledged. The list can take a few seconds to show the new status.

FAQ

What happens to incidents that are already acknowledged?

Oppex skips them and changes only the incidents that need to change. The confirmation message is the same either way, so if every selected incident was already acknowledged, nothing changes in the list.

Can I acknowledge a resolved incident?

No. Oppex skips resolved incidents when you acknowledge in bulk.

Does an admin role let me acknowledge any incident?

No. Every role follows the same rule: the incident must be assigned to you, or you must belong to the escalation policy it was routed to.
