On-Call Prep
On-Call Prep lists the incidents most likely to happen during your current or next on-call shift, based on how often they happened recently on the services you cover. For each incident it shows the likely causes that past notes and root cause analyses point to, so you start the shift knowing what to expect.
Every user can open their own On-Call Prep page, whatever their role. The page shows only your own shift. See On-Call Prep permissions and limits.
What you can do
| On the page | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Shift card | Whether you are on call now or when your next shift starts, the schedule, and the shift window in your time zone. |
| Readiness bar | How many of the listed incidents you have reviewed, the next one to review, and the time until your shift. |
| Regular alerts | Alerts that fire regularly on your services, or have only just started firing. |
| Infrequent but likely this shift | Alerts that fire less often, for example monthly, but are due during this shift. |
| Incident panel | The likely causes with a confidence level, the similar past incidents, and a link to the latest occurrence. |
Oppex also lists the likely incidents in your shift reminder email when you have turned on on-call emails.
