Mobile app alerts

When an incident is assigned to you, the Oppex mobile app shows a push notification on every phone where you are signed in. Push notifications are sent whichever contact methods the escalation policy uses.

Permissions

Any responder signed in to the Oppex app receives push notifications for incidents assigned to them. Allow notifications for the app on your phone.

Respond from the app

  1. Tap the notification. It is titled "Incident Assigned: <service name>" and shows the incident title.
  2. If the full-screen alarm is showing, tap View Incident to open the incident, or Stop Alarm to silence it.
  3. On the incident screen, tap Acknowledge. The button changes to Acknowledged!.
  4. Optional: To snooze the incident, open the snooze option, and then choose a duration in Snooze Incident. The durations match the web app. See Snooze.
  5. Optional: To resolve the incident, use Swipe to Resolve.
Stop Alarm does not acknowledge the incident

Stop Alarm only silences the alarm on your phone. The incident stays assigned to you and escalation continues until you acknowledge it.

Resolving needs the web app when an RCA is required

The mobile app has no root cause analysis (RCA) form. If your organization requires an RCA before resolving, the app shows "Failed to resolve incident". Resolve the incident in the web app instead. See Resolve.

Sound and critical alerts

In the mobile app you can choose an alert sound for each severity. On iPhone you can also turn on critical alerts for chosen severities, which play even when your phone is silenced. Both settings are in the app, not in the web app.
